Henri Matisse
This exhibition features a collection of unsigned lithographs by Henri Matisse from the special edition of Cahiers d’Art, published in 1936, devoted to the artist’s pen and ink line drawings. The lithographs are signed in the plate.
Cahiers d’Art was a French artistic and literary journal originally founded in 1926 by Christian Zervos.
Each issue of the journal juxtaposed primitive arts with the modern and contemporary, with articles, literary and poetic texts by contemporary critics.
