about Joan Miró

Joan Miró (1893–1983) was a Spanish painter, sculptor and printmaker associated with Surrealism. Renowned for his bold colours, playful symbols and dreamlike imagery, he developed a uniquely poetic form of abstraction. Working across multiple media, Miró became one of the twentieth century’s most influential and instantly recognisable modern artists.
