Dan Faine

about Dan Faine

Dan Faine is an artist, printmaker, and co-founder of Dark Matter Studio, a boutique print making studio based in West London who have created prints for the likes of Peter Blake and Yinka Ilori.

Prior to starting Dark Matter, Faine worked at the legendary Coriander Studio, where he learned the art of screen printing, working alongside a whole host of artists including Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, Bruce McLean, and Gavin Turk.

Faine’s own work is characterised by playful exploration of taking things out of context, such as isolating pieces of furniture from their surroundings. By basing the colours and composition of his works on famous paintings, each piece is infused with a sense of familiarity at odds with its surreal nature.
